The True Story of Hansel and Gretel Week 1

Of the now four parallel (in time) plot lines -- Magda and the children, the Oberfuhrer & Major Frankel, the Mechanik and stepmother, and Nelka/Telek which is the most interesting or intriguing plot to you and why?

I think the Oberferer is the most interesting because the things he says and does are shocking and worry me about future reading. I can see him causing a lot of problems and conflict later on in the story. He is a very interesting character who is hard to figure out right away.

I think that the plot that has Magda and the children in it is the most interesting because you can see how the children are growing and changing in their new enviornment. Also, Magda is a confusing character because you can't tell if she is gonna turn mean or if she really is nice or what's going on.

I really think that the Nelka and Telek plot line is very interesting. Because he just does whatever she says and doesn't do anything about it...

It's like she doesn't even like him. It's kind of weird because she's pregnant with her dead husbands child, but people say it's a bastards son. Wouldn't that mean she got pregnant with just some random guy who she's not married to..?

The plot that I find most interesting is with Magda and the children....I like this plot the best because 1. I really like Magda and 2. It's interesting seeing how the children change and grow in their new enviornment

in response to nicole. I think that they call Nelkas baby a bastards son because she really isn't married anymore. If your not married and have a child they call it a bastard.

In response to nicoles comment... I think they call Nelkas baby a bastard because if your not married and have a baby they call it a bastard. Even though Nelka was married to her husband that is now dead or something.

I think Hansel and Gretel are the most interesting because they are not with there real family. They live with a witch and a lot of people in the village dont like her.

I think that Hansel and Gretel are the most interesting charcters so far in this book becuase they're children who are doing everything to survive during the horrible war time. I know for a fact that I wouldn't be able to walk thorugh woods withl ice crawling on me and break up my last piece of bread to keep a trail in the woods, not while there are people hunting me and my family like dogs. I couldn't do any of the things that they had to do at all. The two of them are strong children with a lot of will and that's what makes them the most interesting to me.

I think that Oberfuhrer is the most interesting right now. I know that Oberfuhrer is a cruel and nasty man from the previous chapter and that he has an intrest in Nelka. I'm afarid that he might hurt her.

i think hansel is the most interesting because he is a little kid having to grow up really fast because of the war. hes not reall used to having to behave like a german and now he has to act completely like one

I think Nelka and Telek are the more interesting of the plot lines because she is pregnant and her hubby is most likely dead. She hangs with Telek who is obviously in love with her and she has some pretty stong emotions for him as well. Wonder just how far their relationship will go...

i would have to say the oberferer is the most interesting plot thus far. he seems to be this lonley, regreful person that strives on be the most important person in the village. he also seems to be lerking all of the time, and enjoys keeping an eye on everyone in his town

i agree with paige polzer, the oberferer seems very destructful and the way he acts around gretel is kind of creepy. im waiting to see what happens

I think the one that is most interesting is Nelka and Telek because she kind of uses him and he just takes it. I don't know if he is trying to impress her or what but its weird. He's her dog and does what she wants with him but she doesn't like him so i don't know its going to be interesting.

Im going to have to say the plot of Magda and the children. It is so well thought up, and carefully pulling off. It is a great plot that may keep the children alive in the long run.

I think that the plot to help save the Gretel and Hansel is interesting because you think that it will never work because someone might tell or find out who they really are. Funny how Magda is going through all this just to help these kids stay alive. AT first you think that it will never work and that she will just let them be but she wants to help and make sure that they make it out alive.

I think that the plotline with the Oberfuhrer is pretty interesting because there is a lot of mystery about what he is doing. Why is he in the village? What is he going to do? Plus, he just seems like a weird guy and it's interesting to read about the shocking things that he does and says because you never know what to expect from him. I'm worried about what he is going to do with Nelka since he decided that he liked the way she looked and said she had a certain "glow" or whatever he said.

The most interesting plot to me is with Magda and the children. It shows how the children adapt to living without their father and stepmother and can live with a stranger, who they believe is helping them. With how it is written, I still cannot tell if Magda is really helping the children, and will continue to, or if something will happen to them later on in the story.

I like the plot of Magda and the children the most. I don't know why, but there always seems to be a conflict between the characters. This makes for great reading. I also like the way the children are always on some sort of quest and need to be guidelined on what they can and cannot do. The other plot lines are good as well, but I like this one the best.

I think the plot with the children and Magda is the most interesting and the other plots involving the Major and the Oberferer as well as Telek and Nelka, are more tied into this one plot of Magda and the children. I think I like that one the most just because it's pretty much the main story line and the most stuff seems to go on. Later in the story though Telek starts becoming involved with the father and stepmother in the forrest.

Personally, I find the Oberfuhrer/Frankel and the Partisians plot lines the most interesting, for I get a kick out of German persistence. It was entertaining to read of the Germans failures while the Partisians grew in strength.
