What did you think of the ending?

I liked the ending of the novel, but I wanted a happier ending with Hassan's son and Amir. I was shocked that Hassan's son cuts himself, the reader is so happy that there is hope for adoption and that trust is lost between them in such a short period. I liked the ending with the kite!

I didn't really like the ending....I think that it could have ended a lot better....I don't like how you never really know if Sohrab is happy where he is....or if he ever will be....I also really don't like that Hassan died....I wish that there could have been one last time that Amir and Hassan could have seen each other and talked. The one part that I did like though was when Amir said to Sohrab...."For you a thousand times over" I liked how that happened.

I loved the ending. It wasn't too happy but yet it wasn't sad. It illustrated how children who have been in stressful situations actually act when too much has been put upon the (the slitting of the wrists) becasue they over react. I mean yeah its sad but it's true. They didn't sugar coat it which I love. But I really liked how Sohrab stayed withdrawn because it's realistic. It's not like he's going to be come out of the hospital knowing that Amir is taking him home and he doesn't have to worry anymore and be all happy because it's just not possible from all the violence and death he has seen. It doesn't take just a second to change your mood after you "freak out" over something, it can take infinate amounts of time to heal emotionally. I love how he conveyed that!

I liked the ending because Amir is making up for what he did to Hassan with Hassan's son.

I liked the ending because Amir is making up for what he did to Hassan by taking care of Hassan's son.

I did like how the ending came back around with the kite, but I also wanted a little more information about what Amir and Sohrab's future had in store. Do they trust each other? There were a lot of questions left in my mind when I finished the novel.

I liked the ending of the book. When Sohrab ended up hurting himself and having to go to the hospital, I thought that the ending was going to be how he had died and Amir was going to move back to the US without him. But the ending with the kite flying ties the entire book back together, almost like a flashback to Amir and Hassan flying kites, but now it's Amir and Sohrab.

i like the ending because Amir in a way got rid of some of his guilt when he saved Sohrab.

I liked the ending kinda. I agree with what Paige Polzer said about how Sohrab and Amir could have had a happier ending. Or they could have gone into more depth with it. I liked the "for you a thousand times over" part, but I thought that Sohrab trying to kill himself was a little harsh for a boy of his age. Maybe I just lived a sheltered life.
